Fabulous way to see Coronado and San Diego on a segway
We booked the segway tour to Coronado and parts of San Diego with Gaslamp Segway Tours. We met at their office in the Gaslamp District and started our tour there, saw a video on segways and did practice runs in the area outside the office before venturing out. We then went to sights in the Gaslamp area, the harbor area, took the ferry to Coronado. It was so much fun to go over to Coronado via the ferry then hop back on our segways for an up close and personal way to see Coronado, and so much better than a tour bus or car. Our thanks to our fun guide, Joe, who was very personable and knew so much about the area. He obviously loves his job. Taking streets through the residential area of Coronado gave us a wonderful way to see how people really live there. Thanks to everyone at Gaslamp Segway for making our trip special, gliding through the sights offered with so much fun. You can look forward to their hospitality and making guests feel welcome. They offer various other segways tours, too. We’ll recommend this way of seeing San Diego and Coronado to others, and this company deserves a thumbs up, too.
Find your favorite stars filming in Los Angeles
A certain wife comes to mind who scoffs at the idea of actually looking for stars, yet can tell you the latest gossip on any given movie actress right down to whether they’ve had breast implants.
She doesn’t quite understand the thrill of the kill I felt when, on my first trip to Hawaii, a friend and I struck true pay dirt while in search of Jack Lord – a.k.a. Steve McGarrett – who was singlehandedly boosting island tourism with his long-running television show Hawaii 5-0. Asking around, we found out where Hawaii 5-O’s studios were located and rather brazenly walked up to one of the nondescript office doors, knocked and then nearly fainted when none other than Jack Lord answered the door.
True location stalkers could wait a lifetime for that little bit of serendipity.
Fast forward to the 21st Century and an enterprising young woman from upstate New York has made it a lot easier for you to not only see a star, but potentially to even talk to one. No longer do you have to just wander aimlessly through the streets of Los Angeles hoping to bump into a famous person. Christine Bord has put together a website that gives you details about just when and where the stars will be working on their latest film or television projects.
