| Customer Reviews: ideal guide for spain February 6, 2010 Nickos Vratsanos (Athens, Greece) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I usually buy all "big three" guidebooks for the places I go (Lonely Planet, Rough, Fodors). It looks as Fodors is geting better and better, and keeps the fresh unbiased look, while the others are stuck with their image. Especially for Spain, Fodors is almost ideal. Descriptions, everyday facts, maps, historical hints, close up looks, "break" recommendations during a museum visit etc. I am an architect, and I think that it is the only guide that offers info about architecture and art, without being overtouristic or overacademic. The best choise if you travel to Spain, and propably to many other places as well.
Excellent - with highlights of both large and small towns/cities! April 14, 2010 Ann R. King (Seattle, Wa) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This was very comprehensive and covered large cities very well but also the smaller areas with notes of historical interest.
Spain here we come! April 19, 2010 Francine Griego (CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My family and I have planned a trip to Spain and needed some reference guides to prepare us for our excursion. I have only thumbed through this book, as it is so huge. It seems to be very helpful in historical sites, restaurants, hotels and much more. I like the updated version of this one. My friend let me borrow a book she had on Spain from a few years ago. There are quite a few things that have changed or wasn't mentioned in the book I borrowed. I recommend you get this updated one. I am looking forward to a wonderful vacation in such a beautiful country.
Must have August 21, 2010 none I purchased all the big three travel guides for my trip to Spain (Aug 2010). I found Fodors to be accurate and complete and Iused it the most. If you're staying in the cities or using public transportation it is great. If you want to get out and drive the countryside I would HIGHLY recommend in addition to this book Backcountry Drives Spain. It was awesome as well. Offering more sites and reviews to smaller towns. Easy to read, great information. Must have.
