Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse (CALA) today named New Jersey Assemblyman Anthony Impreveduto as its "Lawsuit Abuser of the Week."

CALA plans to release the name of someone each week who has "taken the cake" in promoting more frivolous and outrageous lawsuits. The winners will be posted on the group's website for all to see at www.losangelescala.org.

"Assemblyman Impreveduto wins the year's first award because he has asked the N.J. Exposition Authority to sue the NFL over the outcome of the New York Giants football game last week," stated Mike Vallante, Executive Director of CALA, and a Giant fan since 1961.

"It was an unfortunate way to end the game, but to have a legislative leader call on the Sports Authority to sue because of a missed call is shameful. As an elected official, and a leader in the New Jersey Assembly, Mr. Impreveduto should know better than turning to lawsuits and what they cost everyone. It shows the mentality of sue first and think later, which is exactly why we have so many outrageous and frivolous lawsuits clogging our courts."

"For his lack of judgment, and his promotion of a litigious society, we throw the yellow flag at Assemblyman Impreveduto, and make him the Lawsuit Abuser of the Week," concluded Vallante.
