RE: AB 1909 – SUPPORT
It is with great pleasure that I write to inform
you that Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse of Los Angeles (LACALA)
is in full SUPPORT of your AB 1909, regarding products liability.
AB 1909 would provide that no manufacturer, distributor,
or seller of food or nonalcoholic beverages intended for human
consumption shall be subject to civil liability for personal injury
or wrongful death based on an individual's consumption of that
food or nonalcoholic beverages.
We are encouraged that AB 1909 will prevent frivolous
obesity lawsuits and will help unclog our already overburdened
courtrooms, giving those with a legitimate grievance a speedier
chance for their day in court.
Thank you for introducing legislation that will
work to protect consumers in California.
